Funny thing about skepticism, I can't quite buy it. Strange thing is, I don't have enough faith in my own observations to be truly skeptical - it all seems so narcissistic, too, in some odd way. It's fascinating how we can easily look at someone who believes in a conspiracy theory and think they're a little out there, yet also accept our own conclusions about faith and the meaning of life as authoritative. (I think it's no mere coincidence that many folks who are highly intelligent are also prone to belief in conspiracy theories.)
Skepticism at its root is based on doubt, which makes for a shaky foundation indeed.
